Niykee's personal highlights include getting selected to be part of Snoop on the YouTube Brandcast, in May 2013, as well as writing songs in spite of the chaos in the last couple of years. She is now a magnet for aspiring artists, she is constantly looking over beats she receives and finds that many end up sparking song ideas. I can tell if a beat is great after five seconds and then I'll get a song in my head, and I'll start writing immediately she says. My guitar sits on the back porch and I just let my thoughts flow. The process usually takes about 30 minutes. Niykee's experiences from her past provide an unending source of unexpected ideas. Niykee says that, even when she is not writing about events that were actually taking place, all of her pain from childhood and grief over the loss of her daughter makes it's way into her music. It shapes my songs and builds this deeper significance behind everything that is one the most important things for me. I want to be able to say that I'll be able to listen to any of my songs in 20 years from now and still feel proud of the things I had to say.
