Kellie 2 Kellie 4 Jennifer Jennifer 1Kellie Pickler is among "American Idol's" greatest contestants, despite not winning the title. Kellie Pickler was born on June 28, 1986, to Cynthia Morton Pickler and Clyde Raymond Pickler in Stanly Memorial Hospital Albemarle. The couple had her mother who was 16 years old. Pickler's childhood was difficult because her father was addicted to alcohol and drugs even though her mother had divorced from her at the age of 2. Morton was able to gain the custody rights of Pickler for two years. However, Pickler acknowledged that not all went as planned. "I recall that my mother as well as me living in the same room, and I said to her I'd rather die than to be there with you. I'd like God took me off.' She got off a knife from the kitchen and put it on the counter. She then said: "Here you go." I was in the fourth grade. Of course I never would take action yet it's left an awful amount of emotional damage," she said. Court eventually gave Pickler to her grandparents when she was just 12 and Morton didn't show to the court hearing. Pickler has cited her grandparents as the main influences in life throughout her whole life was a child of the grandparents. The year was January 2002 when her maternal grandmother Faye Pickler passed away from lung cancer. Her family was led by her grandfather. Pickler was awarded her graduation diploma from the North Stanly in New London, North Carolina.
