She's been with many of the top outlets around the world. She spent nearly a decade in the Washington Post. The Washington Post covering football and basketball as well as multiple Olympics and Grand Slam Tennis. Nichols was hired by ESPN at the beginning of 2004. She worked for nearly nine years with the company, winning 2 Emmy Awards. She also appeared on the most popular programs on ESPN including SportsCenter or NFL Countdown. Nichols was also a an integral part of ESPN's Monday Night Football broadcasts as a sideline reporter. Then she moved on to CNN as well as Turner Sports. The show she first created and hosted was self-titled, Unguarded together with Rachel Nichols, and aired weekly on CNN and CNN International. This show attracted more than one-billion viewers in all over the globe. Nichols was employed by TNT as a journalist who reported on NBA games, including regular season games, playoffs and All Star broadcasts. Apart from covering for TBS, she also covered broadcasts of golf and baseball as well as the Final Four on CBS. Only the second woman has been selected amongst more than two hundred nominees in the history of 42 years for the honor.
